a) Strive for the generation of scientific knowledge and technological development of agriculture through scientific research, technology adaptation, transfer and advice to improve the competitiveness of production, equitable distribution of benefits technology, sustainability in the use of natural resources, science and technology capacity in the country, and generally to improve the quality of life of the population.
b) To propose policies and strategies for research and development of agricultural technologies and support the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and other entities in the study and design of the national plan of research and transfer of agricultural technology.
c) Develop strategies for human resources training in order to enable the scientific, technical and administrative support for agricultural development and required for the exercise of their activities.
d) Provide technical and logistic support to the Colombian Agricultural Institute (ICA), in the work of prevention and control of plant and animal health problems, and develop actions to ensure the quality of agricultural inputs.
e) Promote and support processes and patterns of technological transfer and innovation.
f) Promoting organizational forms, establishing a business or partner with other public or private sector for compliance and more efficient development of its purposes.
g) Building on the outcomes of their activities
